FMS Soccer Faces #2 Carlisle

Waynesboro, VA —  Recap by Coach Lacey — Caissons Varsity Soccer (0-1) hosted Carlisle School at Anderson Field Friday, August 31st for their season opener on a dry pitch and very bright, warm evening. Goalie Benjamin Pugel (Washington, DC) stayed productive both halves with twenty-four saves. The opponents scored in the 8th, 18th, 23rd, 29th, and 38th minutes. The second half was tied with one goal each. Attackman Cameron Widmar (Richmond Hill, GA) scored in the 42nd minute by an assist from fellow Attackman Hamed Al Hinai (Vienna, VA). The opponents responded with a late goal in the 53rd. Defensiveman Alexander Takacs (Walpole, MA) led the backfield with eight successful picks.

Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built on the structure of an Army JROTC program. FMS has been designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academies. Fishburne hosts one of only four Summer JROTC programs in the nation that is accredited by US Army Cadet Command.
