Raiders Continue to Roll

Fishburne Military School’s Raiders will vie for a 4th-straight appearance in 4th Brigade’s “Best of the Best” competition.

Harrisonburg, VA — The Fishburne Military School JROTC Raiders Team, led by 1SG Hunter Wren-Russ (Calabasas, CA), placed second overall at the Harrisonburg High School Raider Meet this weekend in Harrisonburg, VA.

The Caissons brought home a first-place finish in the Logistics Relay; second-place in PT Test, Litter Carry, Vehicle Pull and 5K Run; and, a third-place finish in the Rope Bridge event. Fishburne placed second overall behind an outstanding Orange County High School RaiderFishburne Military School (VA) is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Next Saturday, Fishburne will attempt to qualify for the 4th Brigade (JROTC) ‘Best of the Best” competition at the Raider North Meet held in Richmond, VA.  4th Brigade consists of 318 schools throughout West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina and competition for the title of “Best of the Best” is stiff.  FMS has qualified for the “BOB” for the last three consecutive years and has high hopes for strong showing this year.


Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built upon the structure of an Army JROTC program. Boasting a 100% college-acceptance rate for the past 10 consecutive years, FMS has also been designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academics. Fishburne hosts one of only four Summer JROTC programs in the nation, accredited by US Army Cadet Command.
