Fishburne Military School gets first win

The game was tied at 37-37 at halftime before the Caissons took control.

“We played sloppy in the first half,” said Fishburne coach Ed Huckaby. “We had a ton of shots in the lane that wouldn’t fall.

“But in the second half, our defensive pressure just wore them down. We were just more athletic and more physical.”

Artie Bell led Fishburne in scoring with 26 points, including a 4-for-4 effort in the second half from beyond the arc.

Khalil Murphy added 17 points and four rebounds while Donte Morales had 15 points and seven rebounds.

“The backbone was Joel Brokenbrough,” Huckaby added. “He had just four points, but controlled the boards with 17 rebounds. He really set the tone for us.”
