DSC_0029It was a cool bright day at Fishburne Military School as the Caissons faced The Fighting Bishops of Virginia Episcopal School.

As the game started and the teams began to battle for the ball The Fighting Bishops seemed unprepared for the aggresive fire that the Caissons brought to the field.

Fishburne controlled the ball early on. A score by Adrian James Sullivan ten minutes in set the tone early for the Caissons. Virginia Espiscopal School continued to battle for a goal throughout the first half but came up short.DSC_0041

At the half, Coach Moody talked to the team urging them to “keep possession of the ball and we got it guys!”

The Caissons took his advice to heart and came out strong in the second half with a number of shots on goal. Team Captain Harold McCoo drew gasps from the crowd with several close call shots at the VES net.

Fishburne’s defense kept the backfield clear for most of the game with  Goalie Anders Lendarson making a DSC_0111handful of saves when called upon.

As the afternoon drew to a close, the Caissons knew they were in the drivers seat with little time on the clock as Virginia Esipcopal School had yet to score. The Caissons successfully defended against a final VES push to pull off the win 1-0.

The Caissons record is now 1-2-1.
