FMS and Norwich University Forge Agreement

Fishburne Military School Headmaster and Norwich University Director of Enrollment Forge New AgreementWaynesboro, VA — Two of America’s top military schools have established a new relationship that will provide a roadmap to success for generations of students to come. Fishburne Military School announced yesterday that an agreement was finalized with Norwich University (Northfield, VT) that will provide even greater opportunities for FMS Cadets. The agreement provides “assured admission …  to Norwich University” for qualified cadets graduating in good standing from Fishburne Military School.

This newest college connection for FMS graduates closely mirrors one penned between Fishburne and Valley Forge Military College (Wayne, PA) in 2014.

According to FMS Headmaster, COL Dan Baranik (VA), who was key in forging the Norwich agreement, “this marks a continuing, nation-wide recognition of Fishburne Military School’s success in educating young men and preparing them for lives of leadership in college and beyond.”

In a letter accompanying yesterday’s agreement Norwich University’s Executive Director for Enrollment Operations, Mr. Mike Yesalonia, himself a 1982 graduate of Norwich, notes that he is looking “forward to working with [FMS] to grow this relationship.”

“It is rewarding,” notes Baranik, “that prestigious colleges and universities such as Norwich are recognizing that Fishburne Cadets are prepared for the challenges in higher education and that schools are pursuing our graduates. These agreements, along with our recent ten year accreditation approval, validate that the school is accomplishing the mission of providing each Cadet with a sound academic foundation and a better understanding of the obligations of honor, citizenship, and self-discipline.”

FMS, by virtue of its status as a US Army JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction, may also nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academies.

Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built upon the structure of an Army JROTC program. FMS is designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academies. Fishburne hosts one of only four Summer JROTC programs in the nation, accredited by US Army Cadet Command.
