FMS Alumni Association Announces Maryland Social

Maryland social 15-2(Waynesboro, VA) — The Fishburne Military School Alumni Association has announced that there will be a BBQ Social for all Alumni who live in or will be visiting the Potomac, Maryland area on Saturday, October 24th. Vinny and Sara Roa, FMS Class of 2005, will be hosting the event at their Potomac home. Pork ribs, pulled pork, burgers and dogs will be on the menu as Vinny christens his new smoker (“Irene”) by entertaining Caissons from all classes who are able to attend.

The Roas do request that guests first RSVP (see AND SHARE attached flyer for instructions) and also plan on brining along a covered side-dish to share.

“These Alumni socials,” notes FMS Superintendent COL Gary R. Morrison (VA), FMS Class of 1981, “are the most important tool we have to keep the brotherhood of FMS Alumni strong, viable and connected. Supporting Fishburne doesn’t always mean writing a check to the school…we can also serve our Alma Mater by working to strengthen and widen the bonds of FMS Alumni. With each gathering and party our school grows a little stronger.”

Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built upon the structure of an Army JROTC program. Boasting a 100% college-acceptance rate for the past 10 consecutive years, FMS has also been designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academics. Fishburne hosts one of only four Summer JROTC programs in the nation, accredited by US Army Cadet Command.
