FMS JROTC Serving the Community
(Waynesboro, VA) — The 2015-2016 school year is in full swing now and Fishburne Military School’s LET II Cadets are back in the business of helping folks in the community to, literally, see the world in a better light. For a number of years now, LET II Cadets have established a used eyeglasses drive to support the efforts of Lions Club International.
This year’s drive looks to be off to an impressive start and the Cadets are hoping to exceed their 2013 record of 161 pairs of glasses. First Sergeant James Hensley USA(Ret) and his LET II students are reaching out to the FMS Family to help them make 2015 the most successful year yet for their drive, which ends at the start of Christmas break.
FMS Superintendent COL Gary Morrison (VA), Class of 1981, notes “This is just one more shining example of our JROTC Department’s focus on channeling young men’s energies into worthwhile and meaningful projects. Through positive mentoring and leadership, our Cadets quickly learn just how important it is to serve others within our community…and how good it feels to do so.”
If you would like to contribute used eyeglasses to the LET II drive, please package them and mail to:
