Fishburne Military School Track and Field Makes Solid Showing
Staunton, VA — The Fishburne Military School Track and Field Team had a solid outing yesterday at Lee High School in Staunton, VA as they brought home a victory in the 4 x 800 relay and posted top-five finishes in four other events.
The Caissons held their own against relatively much larger schools, including Lee, Waynesboro, and Riverheads.
Jason Bruinius (Charlotte, NC), Elijah Jackson (Warsaw, VA), Garrett Rose (Columbus, IN), and Douglas Marsh (Middlebrook, VA) teamed up to win the 4 x 800 relay.
In the 200 meter dash, Marcellus Brooks (Clinton, MD) finished 3rd and Tyler Long (Beavercreek, OH) 4th. Long also placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles.
Brooks was 4th in his first high jump competiton.
Marsh was third in the 800 meters.
The Fishburne Military School Track and Field Team will be back in action on Wednesday, April 26th when they compete at Waynesboro High School.
Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built upon the structure of an Army JROTC program. FMS is designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academies.
