Fishburne Military School Bests Hargrave to Remain Undefeated

Waynesboro, VA – The Fishburne Military School Marksmanship Team improved to 4-0 on Tuesday to stay undefeated for the season. The team traveled to Hargrave and took on a muchFishburne Military School (Waynesboro, VA) Rifle Team defending State Championship improved Tiger Rifle Team.

After the first round, the Caissons were down by 55 points with Joshua Beard (Aguila, AZ) leading the first pass with a score of 255/300 and Joaquin Martinez (Monterrey, Mexico) with a 225/300. Fishburne’s second group came in strong and had Luciano Dolfi (Stuarts Draft, VA) scoring a 257/300 and Timothy Betoni (Falls Church, VA) shooting a 230/300.

Following the victory over Hargrave, Coach Brandon Mawyer noted “The team has shown constant improvement since the start of the season and that is evident in their undefeated record.”

The Fishburne Military School Marksmanship Team will continue to prepare as their focus begins to fall upon defending their State Championship Title on the 25th of February.

The next match for FMS is at home on Thursday vs #1-ranked Massanutten Academy. This match will be crucial in determining the landscape for the upcoming State Match.


Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built upon the structure of an Army JROTC program. FMS is designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academies. Fishburne hosts one of only four Summer JROTC programs in the nation, accredited by US Army Cadet Command.
