Fishburne Military School (Waynesboro, VA) swears in Honor Council

Fishburne Military School’s Honor Council was sworn in yesterday in Lawton Chapel.

Waynesboro, VA — Every Wednesday at Fishburne Military School the entire faculty and corps gather in Lawton Chapel for announcements, awards, promotions, appointments, along with other pertinent activities. Yesterday ten Cadets were sworn in as member of the Honor Council, a group of Cadets which presides over Honor Council violations and helps to uphold the school’s virtuous honor code.

The Honor Council is comprised of the Company Commanders, 1st Sergeants, the Battalion Commander, and the Battalion Executive Officer. Before being officially inducted, the appointees must recite a pledge stating that they will uphold the school’s honor code and put personal feelings aside. It is considered a great honor to be on the honor council as the cadets on it exemplify the values and virtues the school represents.

The Cadets appointed to the Honor Council were: Cadet Major William Rowell (Chesapeake, VA); Cadet Captain Logan Amico (Pittsgrove, NJ); Cadet 1st Lieutenant Diego Dura-Ballestar (Spain); Cadet 1st Lieutenant Elijah Benito (Deale, MD); Cadet 1st Lieutenant Blake Justen (Mentor, OH); Battalion Sergeant Major Brian Draper (Washington, DC); Cadet 1st Lieutenant Noah Combs (Woodbridge, VA); Cadet 1st Sergeant Camden Teubner (Clearwater, FL), Cadet 1st Sergeant Min Chang Kang (Korea); and Cadet 1st Sergeant Larking Petrelles (Falls Church, VA).

Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built upon the structure of an Army JROTC program. Boasting a 100% college-acceptance rate for the past 10 consecutive years, FMS has also been designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academics. Fishburne hosts one of only four Summer JROTC programs in the nation, accredited by US Army Cadet Command. For more information visit www.fishburne.org.
