Fishburne Military School Golf Team Scores a New Low

Waynesboro, VA — The Fishburne Military School lumberjacks outscored Holly Cross on their own turf near Appomattox on Monday. The 201 to 217 victory by FishburneFishburne Military School (Waynesboro, VA) Golf Team Scores New Low seemed to set the stage for things to come.

The Caissons appeared far more solid in their match with Holy Cross than they did in their last match. “This match,” noted Coach Galloway, “is far more in keeping with what our golfers are capable of doing.” McCranie scored a tema-low 45 as both Venn and Long scored 48, with Seydel finishing at 60 and Wilson at 68.

Yesterday Fishburne Military School’s golfers continued their progress by scoring a new team low in Staunton. The FMS golfers scored their best in a few years with a low of 176 over their opponent’s, Grace Christian’s, 186. McCranie scored a new low of 36 breaking the 40 barrier, followed with 45 for Long, 43 for Venn, 55 for Seydel, and 52 for Wilson.

Fishburne’s next match is at home on April 20th against Stuart Hall.


Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built upon the structure of an Army JROTC program. FMS is designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academies.
