Fishburne Baseball Crushes Massanutten

Last night, the Caissons Baseball team travelled to Woodstock to take on Rival MMA. Coming off of last week’s big win at Blue Ridge, Fishburne was ready to go. And go they did!

In the first inning the Caissons attacked the ball at the plate putting up 4 runs. MMA did answer in the bottom half of the 1st inning scoring 3 runs on a Walk, a hit batter, and then a home run.

The second inning again saw the Caissons put up 4 runs and then shut MMA out to move the score to 8-3 at the end of two.

The third inning got off to a very slow start as the Caissons got 2 quick outs; but then the bats EXPLODED as Fishburne Military School put up 12 runs…all with 2 outs to run the score to 20 – 3.

The 4th inning would be the only inning that the Caissons did not score and MMA managed to put up 2 runs to make the score 20 -5.

In the 5th inning we scored one more time and then retired MMA in the bottom half of the 5th inning in order to end the game and make the final score 21 – 5.

The Team now moves its record to 3-2 over all and 2 – 2 in the VIC. Next up for the Caissons will be a trip to Lynchburg on Thursday for a VIC Match up with VES.

The kids did a great job all day and seem to now be starting to gel as a team.
