Alumni gift swords to Fishburne cadet leaders

The high cost of swords. It’s not an issue for 99 percent of teens, but $385 for a new sword can be costly for a young man in a leadership role at a military school. Alumni at Fishburne Military School took note of this, and in 2009 instituted a program to provide loaner swords to cadets in need of a hand up.

The number of the day at today’s First Formation ceremony at Fishburne Military School: 181. That’s how many cadets are enrolled for the start of the 2013-2014 academic year at the Waynesboro military school, the most that have been on campus for the start of a school year in more than a decade.

Scholarship program at Fishburne helps children of disabled vets

Josiah Pleasants’ grandparents, Michael and Janet Pleasants, have been raising him basically since birth. Last year, the Pleasants enrolled their grandson as a freshman at Fishburne Military School to put him on track academically to go to college.

Fishburne Announces Military Family Discounts from $2500 up to Full Tuition

Fishburne Military School has partnered with a private foundation to provide partial or full scholarships to sons of active, disabled or retired military personnel. This program will actively seek candidates recommended by a host of other veterans’ organizations and foundations.
