It’s one of the more recent traditions at Fishburne Military School, but it has already become a perennial favorite. Fishburne’s Winter Parents Weekend is an opportunity for Parents and families to visit their cadets and celebrate all things FMS during the height of the “dark ages”.

Fishburne Drill Teams Win With Focus, Precision
Fishburne Military School’s drill teams participated in a 14-team drill meet on Saturday, emerging with six trophies, including first place honors in three divisions. The cadets displayed poise, focus and precision throughout the long day of competition and illustrated why Fishburne has one of the top JROTC units in the nation.

Rocket Men: Fishburne Rocketry Club Works Hard, Aims High
On Saturday, Rocketry Club members bundled up and braved chilly temperatures in order to test their latest rocket design. This launch was just one of many successful rocket launches undertaken by the Club, which is part of Fishburne’s growing STEM Initiative. This is the latest launch to test designs in the team’s effort to qualify for the national Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) competition.

Alumni Support FMS Through Phone-a-thon
Fishburne Military School (VA) alumni gathered in Waynesboro for a Phone-a-thon in support of the school’s future and to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood. “The future strength of the school does NOT depend upon one or two large donors…the future of the school depends upon the size, strength and commitment of the FMS family as a whole,” notes Todd.

Cadence, Inc. Helps Fishburne STEM Initiative Grow
Cadence, Inc. (Staunton, VA) has generously donated $1,000 to support the STEM initiative at Fishburne Military School (Waynesboro, VA). This gift helps to ensure that FMS Cadets will continue to receive quality, hands-on education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and real-world preparation for today’s competitive job market.

STEM In Action at Fishburne Military School
This week at Fishburne Military School, the Corps of Cadets was challenged to spend at least one hour exploring the world of coding. The Cadets showed remarkable interest and some soon began displaying a natural talent for learning new 21st-century languages like JAVA and HTML. Due to Cadet enthusiasm, the week has already begun to spark some changes in coursework.

Caissons In The Spirit
‘Tis the season, and the Caissons of Fishburne Military School are doing their best to help make the holidays a little brighter for those in the community who are less fortunate. In addition to their usual slate of Academic, Athletic and Leadership Training pursuits, the Corps of Cadets has undertaken a number of community service projects in support of local agencies.
