Six cadets from Fishburne Military School’s Key Club were on hand to help as Waynesboro Kiwanis Club held their annual All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast on Saturday at Westwood Hill Elementary School. The annual event serves as a fundraiser to benefit Kiwanis’ mission of serving youth and the local community.

Rocket Club Wraps Up Season of High Flying

Cadets at Military Schools are generally expected to keep their feet on solid ground, but the Fishburne Military School Rocket Club just wrapped up a successful season with their heads in the clouds. The Caissons had their final launch of the season at the Tripoli Site in Culpeper last Saturday. This year’s team came closer to qualifying for nationals than other FMS Rocket Club team in the past.

Fishburne Cadet Receives Rotary Club Ethics Award

Military schools have a long history of teaching ethics as part of their JROTC curriculum, and Fishburne Military School upholds that tradition. This year, Fishburne is proud to announce that senior Cadet Jacob Owens was selected as the winner of the Staunton (VA) Rotary Club’s Code of Ethics Award.

Fishburne Military School Hosts Tea Dance

Military Schools and debutantes have gone hand-in-hand for generations throughout Virginia’s history. Fishburne Military School (Waynesboro, VA) hosted Old Dominion Cotillion for a special Tea Dance. On Sunday afternoon, over a dozen of this year’s ODC Post Debs, Debs, Future Debs and Pages arrived to a beautifully decorated Grand Foyer in Fishburne’s Alumni Memorial building.

Fishburne Military School Key Club Visits DCON

Each District within Key Club International is made up of several Divisions headed by Lieutenant Governors. Kovach’s election to Lieutenant Governor continues an 11-year streak in which FMS Cadets have been voted to represent the nine schools of Division 9B. This decade of Caisson leadership began in 2005 when Christian Vargas was elected to hold the position.

FMS Hosts Career Fair

Conference areas and classrooms throughout the Administration Building were given over to presentations and Q&A sessions geared toward supplying cadets with real-world advice and strategies regarding educational choices, career paths and daily life within the given industries. Presenters included parents, Alumni, local business leaders, area attorneys, law enforcement agents, health professionals and engineers.

Fishburne Military School Leadership Team Advances to National Championships

The Fishburne Military School JROTC Leadership Bowl Team has earned an invitation to compete at the National Championship event in Washington, DC. Fishburne’s JROTC team earned top scores out of the 1,378 Army JROTC teams that competed from around the world. The Fishburne team is one of only forty Army JROTC Leadership Bowl teams to advance to the National competition.

Fishburne Cadets Find Way to Give Back to Service Members

Fishburne Military School cadets recently found a way to support the USO and give back to our troops all at the same time. The effort, headed by sophomore Kyle Churchwell, results in the donation of 200 bags of toiletry items to the USO Lounge at Dulles International Airport.

Caissons Deliver Cheer

Yesterday a group of Cadets from Fishburne Military School paid a special visit to one of the area’s nursing homes in order to spread a little cheer and beauty. “The residents were so happy to see the Cadets and they were touched by the flowers,” she smiled. “The boys were well rewarded with hugs and kisses from some of those sweet ladies there.”
