Woodberry Forest, VA — The Fishburne Military School Track and Field team made the hour-long trek across Afton Mountain to take on a field of D-1 schools at Woodberry Forest school on Tuesday.
Despite the intense competition from D-1 programs, a number of FMS Cadets were able to show their strength and bring in 1st-place finishes in several events.
Jason Bruinius (Charlotte, NC), Elijah Jackson (Warsaw, VA), Garrett Rose (Columbus, IN), and Douglas Marsh (Middlebrook, VA) brought home a victory in the 4 x 800 relay.
Marsh brought back an additional 1st-place finish in the 800.
Bruinius was 3rd in the 1600 with Rose following in 4th.
Many of the sprinters were injured for this meet but they are all expected to fully recover and compete this season. The Caissons’ throwers–Brady McAllister (Fairfax, VA), Christian Fountain (Spotsylvania, VA), and Braydon Stone(Annapolis, MD) continued to show great improvement.
