Caissons Soccer Posts Another Win

Fishburne Military School Soccer Improves to 2-0

Waynesboro, VA — Fishburne Military School Varsity Soccer won their second match in a row last evening, playing Stuart Hall home at Anderson Field on a cool evening and hard pitch.

Forward Hamed Al Hinai (Vienna, VA) scored the first goal in the 21st minute by an assist from team captain Bobby Palermo (Huntingtown, MD). Stuart Hall then tied with a goal of their own just minutes before the end of the half in the 38th.

Goalie Derek Prestes (Glen Allen, VA) saved five. Altogether, the Caissons had 31 steals and four shots on goal for the first.

The second half would remain tied until the 49th, when Stuart Hall widened their lead with their second score. They continued to lead Fishburne until Bobby Palermo himself scored his first of two nets in the 58th. His second goal was an astonishing 45-yarder in the 76th that clinched the Caissons’ lead for the short remainder of the match.

Goalie Derek Prestes saved an additional seven in the net in the second–while altogether the squad made 31 more steals and six more shots on goal. There was less than one minute of stoppage to end the win: 3-2 Caissons.

Fishburne Varsity Soccer (2-0-0) host Virginia Episcopal home at Anderson Field 4:30pm, today, September 12th, for a shot at qualifying for the league tournament.

Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia.
