Caissons Soccer Hosts Covenant
Waynesboro, VA – Recap by Coach Lacey – Fishburne Varsity Soccer (0-2) hosted New Covenant at Anderson Field on a bright, sweltering afternoon Tuesday, September 4th. Caissons’ Attackman Hamed Al Hinai (Vienna, VA) scored the first goal in the match with a Penalty Kick in the 17th minute. Attackman Chento Marron (Rhinebeck, NY) was brought out the first half with an ankle injury in the 28th. The opponents responded with two of their own goals in the 36th and 41st minutes. Defender Micah Reid (Charlottesville, VA) led the defense with five steals while Keeper Benjamin Pugel (Washington, DC) saved sixteen nets. The second half was rougher with the opponents scoring in the 59th, 63rd, 69th, 74th, 79th, & 80th minutes of play. Defender Adam Bowles (Sewickley, PA) led the defense with six steals while Keeper Pugel saved an additional thirteen. The next match is versus Massanutten at Anderson Field this Friday, September 7th at 4:30pm
Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built on the structure of an Army JROTC program. FMS has been designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academies. Fishburne hosts one of only four Summer JROTC programs in the nation that is accredited by US Army Cadet Command.
