Caissons Golf takes on Ironwood
Staunton, VA — The Fishburne Military Schoo lumberjacks were back in action on a beautiful, but windy Tuesday afternoon at Ironwood Golf Club near Staunton.
The sounds of balls bouncing off wood are still ringing in my ears. However, I think this is the best team we have had in a few years and I think their current defeat is an anomaly.
On the brighter side, rookie Zane McCranie (Lake City, FL) scored the team best with a 40 which is one point below his last game and doing so on an unfamiliar course.
Garrett Venn (Staunton, VA) and Tyler Long (Beavercreek, OH) scored their personal worst with 57 and 59, respectively. Blake Seydel (Woodbridge, VA) fared little better with a 60.
As a team, Fishburne Military school scored 216 vs Stuart Hall’s 212.
Alternate Bryce Profer (Virginia Beach, VA) scored 65 followed by Charles Wilson’s (Stuarts Draft, VA) 67. Overall, this may help out our team’s handicap when it comes to State standings, but still, breaking 200 should not be a problem with this group following a bit more practice.
