Fishburne Military School Runners Keep Getting Stronger

junior Garrett Rose (Columbus, IN) shaved off 19 seconds from last Saturday’s meet to earn a new PR of 18:31, while freshman Justin Hill (St. Augustine, FL) shaved off almost a minute from a PR from last year by recording a time of 20:46.

 
Rose and Hill scored 1st and 3rd for the team respectively. Junior Austin Hanger (Middlebrook, VA) recorded a 19:35, to place 2nd for the team. Junior Mitch Cooper (Manakin Sabot, VA) finished at 21:36 and freshman Seth Leinonen (San Antonio, TX) came in at 26:03 to round out the scoring five for Fishburne Military School.
The Caissons beat out the only other private school in the field, Grace Christian, by a score of 279 to 314. FMS fell short by 2 pts. versus next in-line East Rockingham.

Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built on the structure of an Army JROTC program. FMS has been designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academies. Fishburne hosts one of only four Summer JROTC programs in the nation that is accredited by US Army Cadet Command.
