Caissons Cross Country Beats Massanutten

Arriving in Woodstock yesterday, the FMS cross country team beat MMA by a gnat’s eyelash, 28-30. 

Led by Iron Ahn (3^rd place) and Howard Marsh (4^th), the guys stepped it up a bit in the absence of two of our key runners. 

MMA, sensing our vulnerability, was clearly ahead at the halfway point as Coach Miller-Blackburn and I implored the runners to dig a little deeper.   Most of them picked up the tempo and put themselves in a spot to narrowly gap four MMA runners over the last quarter mile and secure the victory.

Jim Wright, Logan Amico, and Jacob Neufeld clearly suffered while finishing in 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th place.

Other strong efforts:  Will Shepherd, Dan “Mayday” May, Raymond Dua, Evan LaQuaglia, Chris Miller, Hunter Wren-Russ, and Thomas Fosdick.

We hope to have our full contingent of runners for our next meet Thursday, Sep 26, at North Cross School.
