FMS Holds Blessing of the Colors

The assembled Corps of Cadets, Faculty, Staff, members of the FMS Family and friends of the school filled Lawton Chapel for what many call the most meaningful and poignant ceremony of the year. The annual Blessing of the Colors “marks once again the joining together of a group of fine young men into a unified force for good, under their own personal banner.”

Fishburne Sends Two to Boys State Virginia

This year Fishburne Military School was honored to have two Cadets participate in the American Legion’s 76th session of Virginia Boys State at Radford University. The annual event brings hand-selected students from around the state together for a week-long, intensive session of practical training in the mechanics of citizenship and governance.

Nine Caissons Scored as FMS Soccer Blasted Massanutten. Fishburne Military School’s Varsity Soccer (1-2) hosted Massanutten Academy on a soggy Anderson Field Friday, September
7th over a comfortable evening. Caissons Varsity is next scheduled to host New Covenant at Anderson Field at 4:30pm Tuesday, September 11th.

Olympic Gold Medalist, Kenny Monday, Featured at Wrestling Clinic

Fishburne Military School’s Head Wrestling Coach, Terry Waters has announced that Olympic Gold Medalist, NCAA Champion and 4x Undefeated OK State Champion, Kenny Monday will be featured in an upcoming wrestling clinic to be held at FMS. The clinic scheduled for October 14th, will provide young wrestlers (grades 4-12) with a unique opportunity.

Cross Country Comes Up Big in Muddy Opener

Overnight downpours made for a muddy first Cross Country meet for the Fishburne Military School runners. Despite the slippery conditions, the Caissons rolled along to impressive results– besting all private schools at the meet including VIC rival Eastern Mennonite. The Caissons next meet is Saturday the 15th at the Augusta County Invitational at Wilson Memorial HS.

FMS Announces Cadet Leadership for 2018-2019

During his remarks to the assembled Corps, Faculty, Staff and Friends of FMS, Superintendent Black called upon the Cadet Corps to “Demonstrate the will to be successful and harness your efforts collectively with your brothers…Recognize that everyone is weak as an individual, but united together you are extremely strong and can overcome any obstacle.”

Caissons Soccer Hosts Covenant

Fishburne Varsity Soccer (0-2) hosted New Covenant at Anderson Field on a bright, sweltering afternoon Tuesday, September 4th. Caissons’ Attackman Hamed Al Hinai (Vienna, VA) scored the first goal in the match with a Penalty Kick in the 17th minute … The next match is versus Massanutten at Anderson Field this Friday, September 7th at 4:30pm.

Soccer Stands Tall vs Carlisle

Caissons Varsity Soccer (0-1) hosted Carlisle School at Anderson Field for their season opener. Goalie Benjamin Pugel (Washington, DC) stayed productive both halves with twenty-four saves. FMS Attackman Cameron Widmar (Richmond Hill, GA) scored in the 42nd minute by an assist from fellow Attackman Hamed Al Hinai (Vienna, VA).

Caissons Football Kicks Off Season vs. Roanoke Catholic

The Caissons put up a valiant effort versus the always playoff-bound Roanoke Catholic Celtics. “These young men never quit. Each time on the sideline after a hard fought drive, the offense kept talking about their next offensive drive and how they would be more successful. They never gave up and they never will,” noted Coach Goodnough.
