FMS Government Classes Getting Hands-on Civics Lesson
As Election Pages, the Fishburne Military School Cadets will assist electoral officers at their respective polling stations, help to greet and orient voters, and aid anyone needing assistance at the polling places. The Cadets will work in two shifts throughout Election Day, learning civics lessons first-hand as they go.

The Raiders team competed in their first Raider meet of the 2017-2018 school year on Saturday, on the New River in Carroll County, Virginia.The new A-Team started off strong on a 12-mile road march and finished 3rd out of 12 teams. They completed the meet with three 3rd place finishes and came in at 3rd place overall.

Cadet 2LT Connor Green (Virginia Beach, VA) acted as master of ceremonies for the Blessing of the Colors and welcomed those in attendance noting “this ceremony is particularly significant since it marks the coming together of a group of fine young men as a unified force for good underneath their own personal banners.”

Fishburne Military School Guidance’s 2017-2018 College Visits series kicked off this morning as thirteen cadets gathered to meet with an admissions counselor from Hampden-Sydney College. The series gives FMS seniors an opportunity to meet with representatives from a variety of colleges and universities as the cadets prepare to make their college choices.

The Fishburne Military School Cross Country team put up another strong performance over the weekend. At the Augusta County XC Invitational. Almost all the Caisson runners improved from last Saturday’s race. Their performance kept alive the Caissons’ streak of beating all other private schools in attendance.

VES struck three goals in the the 7th, 20th, and 31st minutes…The Caissons (2-1-0) travel on Friday, September 15th, to play Covenant in Charlottesville, VA for the postponed match that was affected by thunderstorms a week ago.

Yesterday afternoon, in a brief ceremony before the entire corps, the 2017-2018 Fishburne Military School Honor Council took their oaths of service in Lawton Chapel. Eight cadets were sworn in by LTC Alec Gunn (VA), the Commandant of Cadets, and promised to uphold and enforce the Honor Code of Fishburne Military School.

The Fishburne Military School Caisson Cross Country runners got off to a strong start in their first meet of the season during the Eastern Mennonite Invitational. The Fishburne team bested all of the other private schools at the meet (Middleburg, Grace Christian, Stuart Hall, Eastern Mennonite, Homeschool Flames) as well as local 2A high school Stuarts Draft.

Waynesboro, VA — Fishburne Military School Varsity Soccer won their second match in a row last evening, playing Stuart Hall home at Anderson Field on a cool evening and hard pitch. Forward Hamed Al Hinai (Vienna, VA) scored the first goal in the 21st minute by an assist from team captain Bobby Palermo (Huntingtown, MD).
