Fishburne Military School Selected to March in Presidential Inauguration Parade

Fishburne Military School has been selected to march in the 58th Presidential Inaugural Parade. Although this will be the first time Fishburne Military School has marched in a Presidential Inauguration,, the Corps of Cadets has previously marched in review for President Calvin Coolidge, Virginia Governors Harry Flood Byrd and Gerald Baliles, Secretaries of the Army Generals Geroge C. Marshall and Eric Shinseki.

State Champion Rifle Team Showing No Signs of Rust

The Fishburne Military School Rifle Team opened up their season last night with a scrimmage against Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, VA). The Caissons are the defending state champions, having clinched their second-straight state championship last February by defeating Massanutten Military Academy (Woodstock, VA). That was their sixth state title since 1999.

Fishburne Military School Drill Teams Excel at Liberty

The Hudgins Rifles, Armed Regulation Platoon, and Color Guard each took first place in their respective categories and Cadet Thomas Fosdick (Staunton, VA) received a first place trophy for Individual Unarmed competition. Hudgins Rifles were commanded by Cadet Blake Seydel (Woodbridge, VA); the Armed Regulation Platoon was commanded by Cadet Alexander Issacs (Reston, VA); and the Fishburne Military School Color Guard was commanded by Cadet David Eldredge (Carver, MA).

STEM in Action at Fishburne Military School

Fishburne Military School may be the oldest accredited secondary school in Virginia but the Faculty and Cadets are far from living in the past. The school’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics initiative is teaching young men an appreciation for 21st-century skills that will, undoubtedly, be critical to their future success. “The Hour of Code this year was an overwhelming success with 100% participation among cadets,” noted Rodes.

Fishburne Military School Hosts 9th Caisson Classic

This weekend, the top military schools in Virginia will clash on the hardwood at Fishburne Military School during the 10th Annual Caisson Classic military schools basketball tournament. This tournament brings together teams from Fishburne Military School, Fork Union Military Academy, Randolph-Macon Military Academy, and Massanutten Military Academy for a competitive weekend of varsity basketball.

James Madison University ROTC’s Cyber Defense Club has been tapped to act as advisors and mentors to the Caissons for the 2016-2017 season and is already bringing some innovation into the training and practice regimen.
