Fishburne Guidance Hosts Career Fair
This week at Fishburne Military School, the Guidance Department hosted a series of career fairs for Cadets. The purpose was to provide students with the opportunity to meet one-on-one with corporate vice-presidents, technicians, doctors, engineers, law enforcement officers, military recruiters as well as military aviators and veterans.

We can now add two more options to the growing list of extra-curricular activities available. Thanks to Cadet interest and organizing efforts, Fishburne Military School now boasts an Ice Hockey Club and a Model Aviation Club.

On the heels of a big weekend at the Massanutten Invitational, the Fishburne Military School postgrad basketball team is at #2 in the NextUp Recruits national postgrad basketball Top 10 poll, released on Monday.

Fourth-ranked Fishburne swept a pair of weekend games at the Massanutten Invitational, defeating Shooting4Greatness Academy 83-70 on Friday and defeating Mount Zion Prep 74-65 on Saturday.

This past weekend 4 wrestlers (Lenardson, Farrell, May, Davis) went to Lehigh University to compete in the Prep National Wrestling Championship Tournament. All 4 of thes Caissons finished in the top 4 in the State Championships last weekend in Virginia Beach.

For the third consecutive year, Virginia’s oldest and smallest military school for boys was named Best Youth Military and Drill Team at the Nation’s oldest George Washington Birthday celebration in Alexandria on Monday.

Tavarius Shine hit a halfcourt shot at the first-half buzzer to give #10 Fork Union a 37-36 halftime lead over #4 Fishburne. Then the Caissons stormed out of the locker room with a 19-3 run in the first 3:49 of the second half and never looked back en route to posting a 94-73 win Tuesday in Waynesboro, Va.

…just one year ago, the Caissons had a RECORD SETTING team: Last year’s team record 20 – 4; last year’s team was 2nd in VIC regular Season and 2nd at the VIC Championship tournament; last year’s team was 10th at the State Tournament and had 5 wrestlers win medals at the State Championship; last year’s team had 1 National Prep Championship Qualifier.
