Caissons Wrestling Dominates at Home Match
The Caissons Wrestling Team took to the mat Tuesday night for its final match before the Holiday Break. After being weathered out on Sat, it had been over a week since competition. Tuesday saw the Caissons host their only regular season home match against Randolph Macon Academy (RMA) and rival Massanutten Academy.

A narrow 95-93 loss at Hargrave Military Academy dropped the Fishburne Military School postgrad basketball team from the top of the NextUp Recruits Top 10 national poll this week.

Waiting for the Caissons on Monday afternoon in the championship game were the Fork Union Blue Devils, who almost doubled the score of Randolph-Macon in their opener on Friday.

Fishburne Military School participated in the Wreaths Across America program on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Brig. Gen. (Ret.) John E. Sayers Jr. was the keynote speaker at the event. Cadets placed wreaths in memory of fallen service members from the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. A special wreath was placed in memory of former FMS TAC Officer Daniel West.

The Fishburne Military School postgrad basketball program has scaled a new height: the top of the national polls. For the first time in the program’s five-year history, the Caissons are #1 in the country, on the strength of back-to-back wins in this weekend’s FMS Best Western Caisson Shootout.

The 2013/14 Wrestling Season began Saturday as the Caissons took to the mat down in Chatham at Hargrave Military Academy. The Caissons had 4 Individual Champions on the day.

Under the leadership of Coach Carrie Miller-Blackburn, the team’s ranks have swelled to 25 swimmers, the most participants of any winter sport on campus. The team, still undefeated in their new home pool, opened the season on Friday with a victory over Hargrave and a strong showing over all.

Thursday night Fishburne Military School Key Club gathered down at Salvation Army for their annual Christmas box packing. Each year Cadets answer the call of the Salvation Army to help feed the area’s less fortunate. The food drive, coordinated by the Waynesboro Kiwanis Club and Salvation Army, depends greatly each year upon Fishburne’s Key Club students to provide much needed support such as this.

Tre’ Harris has already signed with Kansas State, so it’s not like Bruce Weber needed to do any selling on the Fishburne Military School combo guard. But Weber was in Waynesboro just the same on Saturday to see Harris (6’5, 180, Glen Carbon, Ill.) score 13 points to help the second-ranked Caissons postgrad basketball team to a 76-63 win over Kiski School (Pa.) in the FMS Best Western Caisson Shootout.
