Just signing the papers and getting that out of the way, it’s a great feeling,” said Iverson, a 6’10” small forward who is a consensus top-32 recruit overall and is considered one of the top five or six small forwards in the Class of 2013.

#3 Fishburne wins in opener at National Prep Showcase

Kuran Iverson and Zach Lewis returned to their home state to lead Fishburne Military School to a first-day win in the National Prep Showcase as the Caissons took down Northfield Mount Hermon 64-59 Friday night.

Daniel Dixon had D2 offers coming out of high school, but after holding his own in a series of high-school all-star games, he decided that he wanted to invest in himself, and asked his parents for their support. Baltimore-area native Will Darley decided on a postgrad year four hours away at Fishburne Military School and, as fate would have it, will end up with the reward of being able to play college basketball close to home at Maryland-Baltimore County.

Barnett Harris: A member of the Blue Hen family

These are good days to be affiliated with Delaware basketball. The Blue Hens knocked off Virginia of the ACC on the Cavs’ home court to earn a trip to Madison Square Garden for the Preseason NIT semifinals. Barnett Harris, a 6’9″ forward from Monroeville, Pa., was all smiles talking about his decision to sign with Delaware to continue his basketball career.

Chase Cormier: On to Grambling State

Grambling State is in the midst of a rebuilding effort under first-year head coach Joseph Price. Price may have landed his floor general of the future in Fishburne point guard Chase Cormier. Cormier, a 6’0″ guard from Windsor Mill, Md., made it official, signing with Grambling for the class of 2013.

Alassane Kah: Dream come true

Alassane Kah had a tough choice to make – with offers from the likes of Richmond, Rhode Island and Delaware, among others, to mull over. But he was sold on Western Kentucky on his visit. “It’s a great place for basketball. People there just showed me much love. I bonded well with the team when I visited. The chemistry, the offense – they play my style, they run up and down the floor. It was a great choice for me,” said Kah, a 6’9″ forward from Senegal by way of Columbus, Ohio, who signed with the Hilltoppers.

Marcel Simon: Hard work pays off

It’s hard to think that you’re going to get a scholarship to play college basketball in the States when you’re based half a world away in Germany. That was the situation for Marcel Simon, who viewed his postgrad year at Fishburne as an opportunity to showcase himself to American coaches. “This is what I’ve been striving for my entire life. And it’s finally come true,” said Simon, a 6’6″ guard who signed with Texas-Pan American.

Walter Foster: Ready to shine in the CAA

Towson signee Walter Foster (6’8″ forward, Atlanta, Ga.) was all smiles after signing his letter of intent to attend Towson next year. “Today is really important. I’ll be spending four years at Towson,” said Foster, who plans to major in accounting at Towson.
