TE: Sr.   David Candelario 6’4  210 (VA Preps Top 100)

RT:  Sr.  Shawn Wrigley  5’11 230

Defense:

LB: Sr. Nick O’Hara 6’0 195

LB: Sr. Tamer Hussein 5’11 185

LB: Sr.  Tyler Lawson 5’11 200

Defense:

The Caissons elected to install the attack oriented 3-5-3 defense to counter the Wing-T offense used by the majority of their 2010 opponents.  The Caissons defensive coordinator is their head coach Val Gochenour. “We run a 3-5-3 and our linebackers have some good size and quickness and want to hit,” Gochenour said. “Hopefully we will hit all the holes. We get a lot of Wing-T [in the CAFC] and we want to get that Wing-T stopped before it gets going.”

D-Line:  Joey Clare and Kenan Gargovic are set to be the inside run-stoppers the Caissons lacked in 2009.

LB:  Nick O’Hara returning from a broken arm &  Tamer Hussein returning starter from last season are hard hitting players.

DB:  Senior Christopher Lowder 5’10 180 brings speed and natural talent needed to solidify the passing defense.

Offense:

The Caissons pass oriented offense averaged  28 points per game in 2009. Second year offensive coordinator, Mike Pyle is enthusiastic about the returning and new cadets at FMS and is seeking to improve upon last season’s numbers.  Pyle said, “we have additional speed at the wide-out positions this year and QB JP Gonzales has the arm needed to make accurate down field passes.” The Caissons intend to pass early and often.

O-LINE:  Four returning starters on the offensive line with an average weight of 260 lbs will be the biggest starting lineup for the Caissons in years. Transfer student, Jr. Kenan Gargovic 280 lbs. (5.1 Forty) filled the vacancy at right tackle. Gargovic is a natural right tackle and has dominating size and speed. The offensive line should provide more than adequate time and protection for their pass oriented offense.

QB: Sr. JP Gonzales to stretch the field as the Caissons did in 2009. Gonzales is replacing Chet Berry who threw for 22 TD’s & 4 INT’s.

Backfield:  Another transfer student Sr. Nolan King 6’3 205 has the size and speed required to carry the load for the Caissons.
