Carroll County, VA — The Fishburne Military School JROTC Raiders Team competed in their first Raider meet of the 2017-2018 school year on Saturday, September 23, on the New River in Carroll County, Virginia.
This year the team has a brand new, young face with only one returning A-Team Raider, Cadet Matthew Farrar (Waynesboro, VA). Three B-Team cadets moved up to A-Team for the 2017-2018 season: Jason Brunius (Charlotte, NC), Joseph “PT” Jones (South Fulton, TN) and Sam Wickstrom (Chester, VA), with four new cadets rounding out the new A-Team: Cadets Corey Ransom (Virginia Beach, VA), Michael Diaz (Providence, RI), Andrew Hawley (Twinsburg, OH), and Riley Malone (Waynesboro, VA).
The new A-Team started off strong on a 12-mile road march and finished 3rd out of 12 teams. They completed the meet with three 3rd place finishes and came in at 3rd place overall. Overall, the 2017-2018 Raiders had a fantastic start to the Raider season.
