Key Club Cadets Contribute to Holiday Cheer
Each year the Key Club takes pleasure in doing multiple service projects during the Christmas holidays to help those in our community that are less fortunate than ourselves. For the past 10 years the cadets have packed food boxes and participated in the Red Kettle Drive for the Salvation Army.
This year for the first time, the Key Club served as “Santa’s Helpers” at Breakfast with Santa sponsored by the Waynesboro Public Library. On Monday, December 14, we celebrated our last Key Club meeting for 2009 by decorating a Christmas tree for a family in our community who could not otherwise afford a tree and holiday decorations – this project is sponsored by the Wayneboro Downtown Development, Inc. After the tree was decorated, the cadets enjoyed sweet treats and eggnog. The final project of the season will be to kick off “Christmas in River City;” four of our cadets will carry the traditional Yule Log down Main Street Waynesboro while being followed by Christmas Carolers from the community. This project is also sponsored by WDDI. The below images are of the Key Club members decorating a Christmas Tree, and having a rather enjoyable time doing so.
Happy Holidays from the FMS Key Club!
