FMS soccer knocks off Hargrave in season finale
FMS 6 HMA 2: Caisson soccer coach Bryan Greene makes no bones about his disdain for losing to other military schools. He is very proud of his head coaching record 5-1 against them. The one loss came to Hargrave’s soccer team last season.
Fishburne’s soccer team helped him to improve that record to 6-1 with a win to finish the season over Hargrave in a rain-soaked game on Wednesday afternoon. Michael Cabeza scored the hat trick and team captains Harold McCoo, Alex Andersen and Jeehyun Jung added a goal a piece.
Cabeza, Andersen, Anders Lenardson, David Raines and Ryan Anderson all chipped in with assists and Chase Estes had five saves and Lenardsen had two in the winning effort. The Soccer Caissons finished 3-9 and missed the conference tournament by one game.
“It’s not that I don’t respect the other military schools, I am just proud to be a Caisson and look forward to every opportunity to prove that we are the finest military school in Virginia,” Greene said. “I was very happy that our seniors could finish their careers with a win and I could not be happier about the leadership from our team captains. The record does not reflect how good a season we had.”
