Fishburne Military School (VA) Basketball Hosts Caisson Classic this weekend in Waynesboro

Dubbed the Caisson Classic in 2007, this tournament brings together four of Virginia’s Military Schools for a competitive weekend of varsity basketball. The tournament was organized as a celebration of the tradition of military schools in Virginia.

Fishburne’s varsity team is now 3-1 and face Massanutten Academy in the second round of play on Friday. The tournament will kick off as the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon face the Blue Devils of Fork Union at 4:30 in Fishburne’s Alumni Memorial Gym.

Saturday, the Consolation game will be at 2:00 and the Championship game, followed by a short awards ceremony, starts at 4:00.

All games will be held in the FMS gym and admission is FREE.

Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built upon the structure of an Army JROTC program. Boasting a 100% college-acceptance rate for the past 10 consecutive years, FMS has also been designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academics.
