This was the best race to date for the Caisson Cross Country team, as 8 Caissons earned a medal as well as 14 out of 16 runners that competed set new Personal Records: Jennings (-0:10); Wright (-0:02); Adams (-0:19); Amico (-0:44); Marsh (-0:14); Draper (-1:15); Kelley (-1:35); Bailey (-3:17); Duffield (-2:31); Hancock (-2:10); Rehmann (-0:40); Vaughan (-0:42); Vicars (-0:04); Wren-Russ (-1:09)!
The Caissons return to action at the Virginia Independent Conference Championship Race (20593 Blue and Gold Drive, Elkton, VA) hosted by Eastern Mennonite. The varsity boys race will begin at 11:00 am.
The proof is in the pudding: these young men have trained hard all season and it is paying off for us. These runners are peaking at the right time, going into our conference championship meet this week. We will be missing our seniors due to ACTs, but I am confident our juniors and underclassmen can fill in the ranks on Saturday to challenge for the conference title.
Fishburne Military School is the oldest and smallest of all military schools for boys in Virginia. Its college-prep curriculum is built upon the structure of an Army JROTC program. Boasting a 100% college-acceptance rate for the past 10 consecutive years, FMS has also been designated as a JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction and may nominate qualified candidates to the United States Service Academics. Fishburne hosts one of only four Summer JROTC programs in the nation, accredited by US Army Cadet Command. For more information visit www.fishburne.org.
