Fishburne Military School Hosts Cross Country Invitational

Fishburne Military School (Waynesboro, VA) hosts Cross Country Invitational Waynesboro, VA — The Caisson XC team continued to show improvement at our home meet at Coyner Springs Park, placing 4th of 11 teams while topping VIC rivals North Cross, Blue Ridge and Eastern Mennonite as well as Massanutten Military Academy. The Covenant School placed first, followed by Rappahannock County and Miller School.

The Caissons were just 4 points behind VIC rival Miller School. In an interesting twist, the first five scorers for Fishburne completed the course before any other team’s scoring five. Senior Tyler Long, who played a Varsity Soccer game the day before, continued to shine by placing 12th with a time of 19:30. Freshman Garrett Rose also captured a medal by finishing in 15th place. Closely on his heels were senior Doug Marsh (17th), junior Matthew Farrar (18th) and junior Alexander Isaacs (21st).

Also showing great progress in the field of 122 runners were sophomore Jesse Jungman and freshman Xiauoyu Chen who finished 26th and 27th respectively.

With 3 weeks to go before the State Championship at Fork Union, there is still room for rigorous training that can shave precious seconds off the time clock.
