Waynesboro, VA — Three times each school year the Fishburne Military School Caissons come together in Lawton Chapel to celebrate the successes of their athletic teams and to recognize individual efforts and achievements. The awards presentations are then followed by a special dinner prepared for the athletes.

Fishburne Military School Athletics Director, MAJ Bryan Greene (VA), recapped the Winter Athletics seasons noting:  “The Winter Season got off to a slow start but finished well. The Swim Team improved all season, and as a testament to their hard work and dedication, posted a host of personal records at the conference meet at the end of the season. Cadet Fessler-Krebs became only the third state qualifier from FMS in the last decade.

The JV Basketball team got a win over VES and three of their players were asked to play at the Varsity level throughout the season. The Varsity Basketball team had a great turn around with a great win on Senior Night.  They ended their season with an overtime loss in the conference tournament and Kian Tate was unanimously chosen as 1st team all-conference.

The Rifle Team, under Coach Mawyer and Coach Spruill, claimed another State Championship.

Finally, the Wrestling team continued their success under Coach Waters, once again bringing a strong presence to the state tournament after finishing second at the VIC Tournament with three Caissons going to the national tournament.”

Following Coach Greene’s remarks, each coach recognized their team’s standouts, presented team awards and
