9-0 Golf Team Gears Up For Tourneys
Recap from Coach Shiflett
The Fishburne Military School golf team improved their record to 9-0 today against Roanoke Catholic School. The Caissions were led by Freshman Matthew Manos and Senior Collin Wade, both shooting a round of 4 over par, 40. Also contributing were Reid D’Amico andJacob Cochran shooting a score of 44 and Hunter Couchot coming in with a 48.
The team has really come together over the past week. Coach Sayre and I are pleased with the leadership and comradery the team has shown this week. We are one win away from having a perfect season, the boys know that, and that is something they really want, not only for themselves, but for the school as well.
With the VIC conference tournament coming up, the Caissons will have one more match against Miller School on Thursday at Waynesboro Country Club. The Conference Tournament will be held on Monday, May 12th at London Downs Golf Club in Lynchburg, VA. The Caissons are ranked #2 in the State polls, and will likely be playing in the State Tournament May 19th at the Manor in Farmville, VA.
